Like many parents with teenagers, the cost of affording college weighs on your mind. And how do you get your teenagers to understand the crucial role they play in the quagmire of applications they will have to fill out without lecturing to them or feeling like you are being lectured. This book filled this need. Kristina explains the vast information in a way a parent AND a teenager can relate to in an informative and entertaining way! My daughter and son are even enjoying reading the book. Better yet, is that we discuss the book and how to save for college! Oh, and I have to thank the author on this, the chapter on the FAFSA will save me a fortune!!! After reading what I thought I knew, changed my strategy for the better! I applied what she wrote and WOW, just that information alone will save me thousands!!The book took my linear thinking approach and expanded to more of a 3 dimensional way to look at how to pay for college. I will have to go back through the book again, but I will give a copy as a gift.

This is an excellent book that every college bound student and parent should read. It is filled with great advice on ways to pay for college without going broke in the process or going into massive amounts of debt!

Plenty of good information and well structured book. Not many new information for me though, since I already did a broad online search. The strategic approaches and ideas are great though.

Should prove to be useful!

College is expensive. Any parent or college student will tell you that the thought of ending college with a mountain of debt is not a good one. But how is a parent with little to no savings or a student with only a part-time job able to handle college without paying for it years after graduation? This books takes the best strategies and ways to pay for college, thus saving the parents and students a world of headaches and stress. As a parent, the idea of paying for two college tuitions is daunting. So I was excited to read this book and see what the author had to say. She takes her own personal experiences and her degree in business to write a well thought out and understandable plan that can be tweaked for anyone. I was expecting a lot of information. But I was not expecting how entertaining and interesting the author was able to make it. I was able to read through the book quickly and didn't get bored or bogged down in the details, but I also gleaned quite a bit of useful information that I can use to start planning for my children's education. The author has an easy, smooth writing style that feels personable and well informed. I would recommend this book to anyone with children or any student getting ready for college.

As a college student, I actively seek out all the possible different ways in which I could graduate debt free. Scholarships, grants, work study programs, and so on.Kristina's book is what I consider to be an essential tool whilst figuring all of those things out. Not only is the information that's within the book great, it's easy to follow and comprehend. Instead of just page after page of text, there are real life examples put in the form of a chart, giving a visual of the words you are reading. Following that, I found it interesting as I read to recognize that Kristina really, truly wants her readers to understand not just the words they are reading, but what they are reading ABOUT. Even as a second year college student, filling out the FAFSA can leave you with unanswered questions. In this book, Kristina specifically addresses her audience in this area and gives some great advice about the key points when filling out your FAFSA. Super helpful! And this is only one of the many, many useful resources that are in this book! This book is a HUGE resource, and I strongly encourage both students and parents of students, to take advantage! From experience, I can say it's better to get started NOW rather "tomorrow".

SUMMARY: In her timely new book, author Kristina Ellis shares her ideas, strategies, knowledge, and expertise on paying for college while staying out of debt. With nearly 70% of students graduating with close to $30,000 in debt, going to college, much less paying for college, may seem insurmountable. Yet in the book, How to Graduate Debt Free, students not only garner hope but some necessary wisdom on money principles, scholarships, financial aid, budgeting, and saving as well as making the most of your college years and studies.A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS: As a very necessary topic albeit an ever-changing market for colleges and money, this informative book addresses and explains several payment options. Listing both advantages and disadvantages, paying for college is obviously not a one-size-fits-all option. In this book, however, Kristina Ellis examines many different methods in straight- forward style. As an up-to-date reference, there are definitely money saving strategies for choosing a college, saving before starting, working while attending, and ultimately, graduating debt free. Perfect for both students and parents alike, an absolute must read for anyone contemplating college.RATING: 4 (out of 5) pennies*I received a complimentary copy of How to Graduate Debt Free from Worthy Publishing for my honest review*
